Community Crosswalk Mural
Today was a beautiful day in Restoring Central Dover as volunteers came together to bring a new mural-style crosswalk to life.
We had the chance to talk with the artist behind the design, Rev. Crystal Saiyge, who shared that her inspiration came from simply walking the neighborhood and feeling its heartbeat. When you take the time to walk a place, you start to understand who lives there and who truly shapes the community. Her design features footprints from all walks of life, music notes to represent the community coming together, and even small details like dog prints and wheelchair tracks to reflect inclusion and movement.
Her hope is simple but powerful. When people feel seen and valued where they are, beauty follows and that’s what brings a community to life.
A huge thank you to everyone who made this possible, including our art installation team, Randi, Evan, Pepper, and Azalea Meredith and all of the volunteers who came out to support this project. We truly appreciate your time, energy, and heart in bringing this vision to life.
