Supporting Our
Community Together

We can connect hearts, transform lives and foster a sense of belonging for everyone.

Our Core Initiatives

Adopted in 2014, Restoring Central Dover is a Comprehensive Neighborhood Revitalization Plan in motion. The Plan and its implementation is led by NeighborGood Partners and a Steering Committee. The Plan represents our community’s vision for restoring the vitality of Central Dover and lists recommendations for implementation over the next 10 years. Resident input and priorities have been derived from a community survey, meetings, events, activities, and community outreach. The Plan offers a multitude of strategies for a Strong Community, Positive Development, and an Integrated Public Realm and Infrastructure.

Community
Outreach

At Restoring Central Dover, community outreach isn’t just a part of what we do, it’s the heart of it. We believe that real change starts with relationships, so we meet people where they are: on their porches, in neighborhood meetings, at block parties, and during everyday conversations. Whether we’re listening to concerns, sharing resources, or celebrating local wins, our outreach efforts are rooted in trust, respect, and a deep commitment to the people who call Central Dover home. Together, we’re building a more connected, informed, and empowered community.

Youth
Education

At Restoring Central Dover, we believe in investing in the next generation. Through hands-on learning in our community gardens, leadership development with the Men of Value program, and real-world job training at The Scoop on Loockerman, we create meaningful opportunities for youth to grow, lead, and thrive. Whether it’s learning how to plant and harvest, building confidence through mentorship, or gaining first-time work experience, we’re committed to helping young people discover their potential and build a brighter future right here in Dover.

Our History

What began as a vision in 2013 has grown into a powerful collaboration between neighbors, partners, and changemakers. Restoring Central Dover was launched by NeighborGood Partners to bring together voices across the city to revitalize the heart of Dover without displacing the people who make it special.

We’ve tackled housing challenges, supported small businesses, built gardens, and empowered youth. Every step of the way, we’ve prioritized community-led change.

Connecting Hearts and Helping Hands

Building a better future through compassion

At the core of Restoring Central Dover is a simple belief: when we lead with compassion, lasting change follows. We connect neighbors, volunteers, and partners through shared purpose and care, creating a strong support system where every voice matters. Whether it’s lending a hand on a community project, mentoring youth, or simply showing up for one another, we’re building a future grounded in empathy, unity, and hope - one relationship at a time.
